The History of Parrot Press

Parrot Press is a family-owned business founded by the Parrot family in 1972. The company began with a focus on two-color printing and a determination to become a reliable provider of quality printed products. As the demands of the printing industry changed, the company also grew and changed.

The second generation of the Parrot family became involved in the business in the early 1990's. At that time the company made a shift from two-color printing to four-color process printing with the 1992 purchase of a Heidelberg Five Color M.O. Since then, the company has added 40" printing capabilities, and has become respected for the quality of the color products it produces.

On the cutting edge of technology the company's pre-press department possesses the latest equipment for producing CTP files, effectively reducing the cost of production and increasing the quality of the printed product. Also, Parrot Press is the first in the area to offer Fuji's Co-Res Screening. This new method of creating dots eliminates problems such as banding which have long plagued the industry.

Today, Parrot Press is a financially sound printer and is well-recognized in many markets including Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The company has forged strong relationships with its clients and does business with many of the advertising and design agencies in Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas.
