FTP Software Clients
An FTP Software client is third-party software that can significantly help in the trouble-free use of an FTP site. While there are many FTP programs available, here are links to a couple programs we have found useful:

Fetch for the Macintosh by FetchSoftWorks. There is a free 15 day demo available for Fetch, but most Mac users will tell you it is well worth the $25 liscence fee to own this application.

Coffee Cup Free FTP for the PC. This highly-ranked software is free and easy to use, but will occasionally display an advertisement for Coffe Cup software.

Troubleshooting Tips
The ways in which a customer can connect to our FTP site are numerous. If you are having problems, here are some things you might try:

  • As a general rule, FTP client software such as those listed above should be used to connect to our FTP site. These programs can give you more control and better results than using FTP from a web browser.
  • Our FTP server requires users to connect using Standard (Active) FTP Mode. If you are currently using Passive Mode and are experiencing problems, this may be the reason. Please see your software documentation for instructions on switching FTP modes.
  • Make sure the user ID and password are correct. The password is case sensitive, so please make sure that your caps lock is off.
  • Make sure the FTP address is correct (as shown here): ftp://ftp.parrotpress.com or ftp://70.88.78.173

If you try these suggestions and still cannot get to our FTP site, please don't hesitate to contact us at (260) 422-6402 and our phone support will try to walk you through some options.
